Exhilarating, isn't it?
That moment when someone decides to trust you with something deep inside him/her, and you realize that there's an actual person underneath all the superficiality of a somewhat unusual friendship?
It's almost as if the longer someone waits to reveal their true self, the more fascinating they become when they finally do. The more you want to ask, and the more infinitely interested you are in everything about them--their desires, motivations, influences, and all the other undefinable factors that make up a human being. You find yourself wanting to share things about yourself in return, and every conversation is more telling than the last.
It's amazing how badly one can want to put together the puzzle that is another soul. And how wonderfully impossible the task can be.
